I think there is a substantial difference. It is clearly visible already on the opening shot of the Armory and the K-logo, with alot of pixelation on the wmv, plus the mp4 plays better on WMP than wmv does on vlc when there is alot of disc activity (which there always is when seeding kink.com torrents :) )
If you have limited storage or download limitations, then just stick with the wmv.
